Walmart’s $50,000 Donation and Volunteer Support Amplifies Kids’ Meals Mission
Houston – November 12, 2024 – Walmart is teaming up with Kids’ Meals to spread holiday cheer by donating $50,000 to the nonprofit and delivering 3,000 Thanksgiving turkey meals to Houston-area families facing extreme poverty. As a part of its mission to end childhood hunger and support families in need, Kids’ Meals is packing and delivering 3,000 Thanksgiving meals over two weeks, including turkey and sides, to families in its program. Kids’ Meals provides families across 56 Houston-area zip codes facing poverty with healthy, free meals for preschool-aged children as well as the wraparound resources, like holiday support.

Walmart provided Kids’ Meals a $50,000 donation to support the Thanksgiving meal delivery across Houston. Along with the Thanksgiving turkeys, Walmart included STEAM activities and coloring pages in the meals delivered. Houston Walmart associates also donated time to help Kids’ Meals volunteers pack and deliver Thanksgiving meals to local families.
