Reliant Energy Hats Off to Houston Contest

Kids’ Meals was recently chosen as one of 10 charities to participate in the Reliant Energy Hats Off to Houston contest. Reliant delivered a huge fiberglass cowboy hat to Kids’ Meals office that was to be decorated primarily by children.  We wanted our hat to represent our organization and our mascot, a brown paper bag named Hope.  We set up some brown paper lunch bags and paint and turned our kiddos loose.

They had so much fun painting healthy food items, hand prints, and other designs of their choice.  The bags dried over two nights and then we began attaching them to the hat.  We used ModPodge to glue the bags to the hat.  The hat turned out to be a perfect representation of Kids’ Mission, ending childhood hunger one brown bag of hope at a time.

The winner of the contest will receive $10,000 which for us means more than 5,000 meals delivered to children living in food insecure homes all over Houston.  You can deliver hope with a simple “like”.

It’s this easy:

1.) Click here:  www.facebook.com/reliantenergy

2.) In the top post on Reliant’s Facebook page, find the Kids’ Meals hat and “like” the photo

Bonus: Share with your friends to help us win the grand prize! Thank you for continuing to deliver hope to the future of Houston!.
