Male High School Golfer of the Year: Charlie Wylie
Charlie began playing golf with his family at a very early age, and his passion and ability were clearly evident. Getting lessons from his grandfather, Golf Doctor- Charlie Epps, took Charlie to new heights in junior golf. He began playing 9 hole tournaments through the STPGA’s Little Linksters, and gradually worked his way through TJGT, Legends, and the American Junior Golf Association. Charlie is currently ranked 26th on the American Junior Golf Association Rolex Ranking, 22 on the Junior Golf Scoreboard and 37 in the Golfweek Junior Ranking. He recently played in the Texas Children’s Hospital Houston Open Qualifier at Westwood County Club finishing at 3 under and 2 strokes out of a playoff position with the tournament.
Charlie holds the course record of 9 under 63 at the Roaring Fork Club in Basalt, Colorado. His career wins include the AJGA Bentwater Preview and the TJGT Fall Classic in 2021. In 2022 he won the Masters/IMG World qualifier which earned him a spot in the World Junior and the South Texas PGA Kingwood Cup. In 2023 he won Bart Granger Memorial and the Dick Harmon Memorial and had 3 top 5 finishes at the Byron Nelson Junior Championship, the AJGA Jackie Burke Invitational, and the AJGA Ping Invitational.

Charlie is a senior at Memorial High School and was recognized as Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and received Most Valuable Player and the Mustang Award as a junior. He will continue his collegiate golf career at TCU where his Mom competed.
