Preschool-aged children often fall through the gap of social services addressing food insecurity. We address the hunger and food insecurity for children ages 6 and under who are not only at a critical developmental stage but cannot access school-based free meal programs.
Each weekday, we deliver approximately 7,000 healthy meals to Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children under the age 6. When school is out, every child up to age 18 in these homes also receives a healthy meal from Kids’ Meals – up to 7,500 kids per day.
HOUSTON RANKS AS 5th IN THE UNITED STATES FOR CHILDREN LIVING WITH FOOD INSECURITY
Every day in our community there are 88,740 children who live unsure of their next meal. That is 1 out of 4 Houston preschool-aged children!
We are bridging the gap for those families who have little means of obtaining meals for their young children on a regular basis. We are the ONLY home meal delivery program in the nation for poverty-stricken preschool-aged children.
