One of the children in a family we serve said, “When it rains, we’re hungry.” Their father worked in construction, but when bad weather hit, he couldn’t work, and without his paycheck, they couldn’t afford groceries.

Thanks to Kids’ Meals, these children received reliable meals, rain or shine. While the storms outside left the family struggling, our deliveries ensured they weren’t going to bed hungry.

Today, the family continues to receive meals, and those children know that even during the toughest times, help is always there.

Several years ago, Emily and her brother were children on the Kids’ Meals’ program. Her family needed help and they found Kids’ Meals. She remembers how great it was having a consistent meal each day along with healthy snacks. Emily also recalls sprinting outside with her brother to receive their meal for the day whenever the Kids’ Meals van would honk.

Emily has since graduated with a degree in nutrition from the University of Houston and comes to Kids’ Meals as a volunteer. She knows that thousands of children rely on Kids’ Meals for nourishment each day and she is so grateful for the meals and the hope we delivered to her family.
