Kids’ Meals’ 4th Annual Summer Kickoff

This year, hundreds of children and their families enjoyed our 4th Annual Summer Kick-off at James Driver Park thanks to Commissioner Adrian Garcia . Over 25 partners provided fun activities, resources for families, and educational materials for our children.

Thank you to our phenomenal partners at McDonald’s Greater Houston Operators Association and AmRisc for being our amazing event sponsors, thank you to Harris County Precinct 2 for allowing us to use this beautiful all-inclusive space, and to all of our wrap around partners for helping break the poverty cycle.

During the summer, kids often lose some of the educational skills they gained during the school year. This is heighted for children in poverty. The U.S. Department of Education found that children in poverty missed out on several types of educationally enriching summer activities that their non-poor classmates enjoyed, including tutoring, trips to historical sites and museums, and attending camp. This is why, thanks to YOU, we have a summer kickoff event for families.

This summer we are feeding up to 10,000 children per day. You can help make sure none of them miss a meal. Every $2 you give delivers a free, healthy meal to a hungry child. To donate, click here: https://kidsmealsinc.org/give
