Right now, over 100,000 children in the Greater Houston area face hunger\u2014and we serve the most vulnerable of them all: babies and toddlers under age 6 who don\u2019t yet receive free school lunches. Each weekday, we deliver nutritious, ready-to-eat meals straight to their doorsteps.<\/p>\n
But food is just the start.<\/p>\n
Thanks to community donations and generous partners who are working to reduce food waste, we\u2019re able to deliver more than meals\u2014like vegetables, cereal, and groceries for the whole family.<\/p>\n
We also equip families with monthly updates about free or low-cost services available across Houston. Our Family Resource Team shares everything from housing and job assistance to parenting support and healthcare access. Recently, they even created a comprehensive resource binder for our Hope Providers to take on their routes, connecting families with over 70 incredible organizations making a difference right here in our city.<\/p>\n
And the future? It\u2019s bright!<\/p>\n
Our new building\u2014currently under construction\u2014will give us the space and capacity to feed over 26,000 children every weekday by 2031<\/strong>. More room means more meals, more groceries, more hope, and more help for hardworking parents striving to break the cycle of poverty.<\/p>\n World Hunger Day reminds us that hunger is a challenge we can meet\u2014together.
